Overview
Studious is an innovative platform developed to tackle the shortcomings of traditional professional exam preparation. Created by a collaborative team of tutors, educational researchers, and software engineers, Studious aimed to shatter the limitations of the one-size-fits-all model. The team recognized the diversity in professionals' backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles, as well as their varying financial needs. With these challenges in mind, Studious set out to blend cutting-edge technology with the latest in educational research to provide a tailored learning experience for each individual.
Challenge
Studious initially chose to offshore their development efforts, attracted by the promise of cost-effectiveness. However, this decision led them down a 9-month journey filled with obstacles. Though the end product appeared to match the designs visually, it was functionally flawed and maintenance was a nightmare. This growing startup would inevitably have issues with scalability as their business grew to match their vision. This put the entire project at risk and it became clear that a new direction was necessary. The challenge now was to not only rebuild the entire application but also to do it rapidly and effectively while validating its utility with real users.
Solution

The first step involved meticulous planning and re-evaluation of the MVP to align with the project's objectives and users' needs. Once the MVP was clearly defined, we moved into execution. Our team spent an intense 6 weeks developing, testing, and preparing the product for launch. Unlike the prior attempt, this wasn't just about building something that looked good; it had to be functional, scalable, and maintainable.
